Biography

Dr. Linda Reilly is a vascular surgeon with particular interest in the management of infected vascular bypass grafts, endovascular aneurysm repair, complex aortic reconstruction and endoluminal treatment of vascular disease. Reilly received a medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed a residency in general surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she was the first woman to complete the training program. She went on to pursue specialty training in vascular surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, and remained at UCSF as a vascular surgeon as well as a member of the faculty. Reilly is the program director for the UCSF General Surgery Residency Training Program and president of the medical staff at UCSF.

Research Summary

Dr. Reilly's research is focused on device and technique development and clinical trials of systems for endovascular repair of complex aortic aneurysms, particularly systems that allow application of the endovascular techniques to branch-bearing segments of the aorta (the aortic arch with the great vessels, the proximal abdominal aorta with the visceral and renal arteries and the iliac bifurcations with the hypogastric arteries). Her research also investigates the durability of endovascular repair of both complex and straight-forward aortic aneurysms.
